Once a simple, 18th century farm building, then the meeting place for Women’s Institute, this pretty, detached stone cottage is now a well-equipped two-bedroom, two-bathroom coastal retreat, just a 10-minute walk from the turquoise waters at Lulworth Cove. It’s the perfect base for exploring the stunning coastline and deeper Dorset before coming home to an evening in front of the log burner – or at the cosy thatched pub, just around the corner!

The cottage is lovely! Truly a home from home. It’s very well appointed, comfortable and in a fantastic location. Just walk out the door and the cove is only 5 minutes away. And there are breathtaking views and (sometimes strenuous!) walks in every direction. We highly recommend it.

We’ve had such a lovely time in your beautiful cottage. It’s so well designed, and has everything one could need. We really enjoyed going out for winter walks and then coming back to the log fire and cosy bedrooms. The perfect retreat!

Great position for access to Lulworth Cove, the SW coast path to Durdle Door and beyond. Great food and hospitality in the local pub, The Castle Inn, just around the corner, and an impressive range of food in the local Londis (5 min walk) if you fancy staying in and cooking. Really enjoyed just being able to amble down to the cove to take in the sea view and air. And well positioned for day trips to Studland, RSPB Arne, Swanage and Lyme Regis.

Halcyon cottage is a real find. I loved the considered interior: the cosy sitting room with its log burner; the light and bright kitchen/dining room; and the hall/boot room, is great for dropping muddy wellies and coats. Upstairs, the bedrooms are simple but very comfy. Then when you leave the house, there are walks in every direction, a great beach cafe and a super pub. Everything you could want for a wonderful holiday. I will definitely be back!

This is our second Christmas at Halcyon Cottage - and we loved it just as much the second time. The cottage is so cosy and romantic, yet also spacious and light. Even my 6ft 6" tall husband didn't have to duck to avoid low ceilings or eaves! We ate in most nights, and found everything that we could possibly need in the well equipped kitchen for making Christmas dinner, and even when friends joined us on Boxing day. Thank you so much
